Getting Started

Patent Connector gives your AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, or any MCP client) direct access to patent office APIs. To get started:

  1. Create an account at patent.dev/patent-connector
  2. Add your patent office API credentials (EPO, USPTO, EUIPO, DPMA, IP Australia, JPO, TIPO)
  3. Generate a Personal Access Token
  4. Connect your AI assistant using the token

Patent Classifications & Manuals (CPC/IPC/FI classifications and examination manuals with AI search) are built in and always available - no credentials required.

Getting Help and Reporting Issues

You can report bugs, ask questions, or suggest improvements directly through your AI assistant using the send_feedback tool. Just ask your assistant to send feedback - it will create a support ticket and we will respond via email.

What tool responses contain

Patent Connector tool responses include only patent data retrieved from official patent office APIs. Specifically:

Tool responses do not include email addresses, user IDs, session tokens, query history, or other personal information about the person making the request.
