ChatGPT gets direct USPTO access

Patent Connector now supports the USPTO Open Data Portal (ODP) API, adding US patent full-text access alongside the existing EPO integration.

While EPO provides excellent global coverage, it lacks full-text data for US patents. The new USPTO ODP API integration enables ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI assistants connected via MCP to retrieve complete US patent information including full text, claims, and bibliographic data.

To use USPTO data, obtain an API key from the USPTO Open Data Portal and configure it in Patent Connector. The connection uses the official USPTO API, avoiding the legal and reliability issues of solutions that rely on reverse-engineered public search endpoints or general web scraping services.
